Accessibility Statement
Last reviewed: 21 June 2026
Lucky Earth is committed to making its travel intelligence platform accessible to as many people as possible, including travellers who rely on assistive technologies. We treat accessibility as an ongoing responsibility, not a one-time task.
Conformance status
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA, and we work towards alignment with the European Accessibility Act (EAA) and the EN 301 549 standard. Across our website, Travel Risk & Impact Map and City Hubs we have implemented keyboard navigation, visible focus indicators, skip-to-content links, sufficient colour contrast, descriptive link text, semantic structure, accessible names for interactive controls, and reduced-motion support for users who prefer it.
What we have done
- Skip-to-main-content links on key pages so keyboard users can bypass repeated navigation.
- Visible keyboard focus indicators that meet the WCAG 2.2 focus-appearance criteria.
- Colour contrast reviewed against the 4.5:1 minimum for body text.
- Interactive controls (such as transport-mode selectors and sliders) exposed to assistive technologies with appropriate roles and states.
- Descriptive alternative text for meaningful images, and presentation roles for decorative ones.
- Respect for the “reduce motion” operating-system preference.
Known limitations
Despite our efforts, some areas are still being improved:
- The interactive map is a visual, location-based tool; some map interactions are difficult to convey fully through a screen reader. Where possible we provide the same information as text in city snapshots and City Hubs.
- Some embedded third-party content (for example external video) may not fully meet our accessibility targets, as it is controlled by the provider.
- Older content and newly added cities are reviewed on a rolling basis, so a small number of pages may temporarily lag our current standard.
We are actively working to reduce these limitations.
Feedback and reporting a problem
If you encounter an accessibility barrier on Lucky Earth, we want to hear about it. Please tell us the page address, what happened, and the device, browser or assistive technology you were using, so we can reproduce and fix it.
Email: info@luckyearth.org
We aim to respond to accessibility reports within a reasonable timeframe and to prioritise fixes that restore access.
Assessment approach
Our accessibility is assessed through a combination of automated checks and manual review against WCAG 2.2 AA success criteria, including keyboard-only navigation and screen-reader testing of key flows. This statement is reviewed and updated as the platform evolves.
